Owner-run family company – the history of Dorbena AG Bettwarenfabrik:
Markus Freuler and Peter Frei
1860 – Set up of a cotton weaving mill at the current site and use of mountain spring water. This predecessor of Dorbena was one of the first industrial plants in the Principality of Liechtenstein.
1939 – After decades marked by change, Hanauer&Schmidt take over the company; loose down and feathers are offered for sale.
1959 –August Oesch takes over the company and establishes the family tradition. In 1963 the name of the company changes to Dorbena AG and the DOR brand emerges.
1992 – Mirjam Frei-Oesch and Josef Oesch take over the company in the second generation.
2004 – Cooperation with CHRISTIAN FISCHBACHER, commencement of internationalisation.
2008 – Markus Freuler, the long-standing managing director and Peter Frei take over the company in the third generation.
From 2010: Continuous expansion of production and progressional modernisation of the machinery.
