CO2-Free Energy Supply

Starting in 2026, we will meet 100% of our electricity needs from our company-owned photovoltaic system.

Connection to the District Heating Network

The existing oil-fired heating system was replaced in 2023, and DORBENA was connected to the district heating network of the Buchs waste-to-energy plant. Since we already use 100% electricity from sustainable sources, our heating energy is also generated in a climate-friendly manner.

Our Own Mountain Spring Water

downand featherare rinsed with pure, in-house mountain spring water before sorting. This clean water plays a key role in ensuring the high quality of downand feather.

Animal Welfare

We have been Downpass-certified since 2016 and are committed to sourcing all downand featherexclusively from animals raised for slaughter that are not from factory farms. Most of our downand feathercome from Polish farms. Animal-welfare-friendly farming practices have a positive impact on the quality of downand feather, which is why we strive to source as much of our products as possible from smaller farms.

Environmentally Responsible Disposal / Reuse

Once a product’s life cycle has ended, its environmentally sound disposal or reuse is regulated. The products are disassembled and sorted in-house; usable items downand featherare reused, while non-usable items are composted by organic farmers. Other fill materials are sent to the waste-to-energy plant in Buchs, incinerated, and converted into district heating.

Recycling

In Dorbena, waste such as paper, plastic, etc., is collected separately in different bins so that the materials can be recycled and reused.
