Dorbena AG is one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-quality bedding.
The owner-managed company, with its 50 employees, manufactures and distributes duvets and pillows, as well as mattress toppers and protective covers under the DOR®, CHRISTIAN FISCHBACHER, and exclusive private-label brands.
1861
A cotton mill was built at its current location, utilizing mountain spring water. This predecessor of Dorbena was one of the first industrial enterprises in the Principality of Liechtenstein.
1939
After decades of ups and downs, Hanauer & Schmidt took over the factory; “ downn” and “ feathern” were sold in retail stores.
1959
Mr. August Oesch takes over the company, thereby establishing the family tradition.
1963
The factory is renamed Dorbena AG, and the DOR® brand is created.
1992
Mirjam Frei-Oesch and Josef Oesch take over the company as the second generation of the family.
2003
Collaboration with CHRISTIAN FISCHBACHER; the company begins its international expansion.
2008
Markus Freuler, the long-time managing director, and Peter Frei take over the company as the third generation of leadership.
From 2010
Continuous expansion of production and ongoing modernization of the
machine park.
2023
Connection to the district heating network and decommissioning of the oil-fired heating system.
2026
Modernization and expansion of the photovoltaic system to achieve 100% self-sufficiency.
